With big names like Bob Bacon, an animation industry leader and studio executive with a 30-year career spanning 20 award-winning films and over $6 billion in the global box office, and Alex Orelle, a veteran leader of both Hollywood and international animation, Virtue Animation knew it needed a web marketing platform to make its mark on the growing world of Web3.

Business Challenge

The Virtue founders brought a revolutionary IP vision of The BaseMint Gang with character-driven storytelling, music, series-based content, live events, metaverse industry collaborations and digital collectible monetization. 

Scalio Teams were able to compliment that vision with platform and product development strategy. A diverse group of Designers offered gamification, feature design, and marketing imagery, while the Development Teams built a fully-customizable web marketing platform to deploy all of the content and features at scale.

 

 

Create a robust digital marketing, engagement and monetization platform controlled by an intuitive content management system (CMS)

Existing in a nascent market, Virtue brought a unique challenge of requiring full control of their site and real-time deployment of dynamic content. Scalio has offered their partners a fully customizable, proprietary CMS (content management system) so the creative storytellers and marketers can evolve their site at the speed of the Web3 market. 

 

 

Build a revolutionary digital asset/NFT staking feature

Scalio blockchain specialists built a proprietary staking feature that reads directly from a user’s wallet to define which digital collectibles they own, reference their traits and staking chronology on the blockchain, then display the level of that staking and trait progression in an intuitive asset overview.

In the case of Basemint Gang, the staking feature was a “training gym” that allowed the superhero to level-up, and unlock a soundtrack after 7 days and a unique “superpower” after 30 days, and a rare digital collectible/NFT unlock after 45 days. 

To date, almost 45% of the BaseMint Gang collectible owner population has staked at least one digital collectible/NFT.

 

 

Deploy gamification to engage, retain and reward the growing community of followers

By offering a scaleable and intuitive puzzle game mechanic, Virtue's marketing Team was empowered to drive engagement and community discussion over an extended period of time (weeks), while inspiring users to return to the BaseMint Gang site for daily updates. By token gating the prize content, Virtue could pass on exclusive rewards to owners of their digital collectibles.

In the case of BaseMint Gang, the puzzle-solving feature included a sequence of over 10 clues to a crime that took place in an early episode of the BaseMint Gang story. Players were invited to solve a series of mystery clues - with the correct answer provided, the next subsequent clue would be unlocked. The use of this gaming mechanic was successfully deployed to engage the online community, and draw users back to the BaseMint Gang website to create player habit leading up to the digital collectible minting.

 

 

Offer monetization via minting of digital collectibles/NFTs on the blockchain

The creative artists at Virtue were able build thousands of unique digital character collectibles called BaseMint Buds - each with their own unique superhero traits. By minting their very own superhero, fans of the BaseMint Gang series could own a part of the story, unlock exclusive owner content, and even level-up the superhero traits of their collectibles with the BaseMint Gang “Training Gym” staking feature.

 

 

Provide best-in-class marketing creative

Scalio provided marketing imagery support for Virtue to use in promotion of all features and milestones associated with the project.  This served the business objectives of drive credibility to ensure maximum value of digital collectibles/NFTs at highest consumer WTP (willingness to pay), while inspiring multiple units/transaction. Virtue’s primary marketing channels for the BaseMint Gang were Twitter and Discord.
